THE BRIEF
To promote their new range of Pure NZ Angus beef combos Tribal DDB put forward a promotion in conjunction with The Rock radio station.

SOLUTION

The idea was simple. For customers who purchased a combo the received a unique code which they could enter into a draw to win prizes. This entry was made available via SMS and Web. Contestants were given the option to then opt in to receive special offers from McDonalds either via SMS or email.

The competition was advertised in store and on the radio and proved to be extremely popular with over thirty thousand entries within the two weeks it was live.

As a thank you to participants McDonalds used our mobile marketing tool to communicate with everyone and send them redeemable offers for items that could be purchased from McDonalds.

RESULTS

This has allowed McDonalds to start building a database of regular customers that they can market to in the future, as well as gather important information about the demographics of customers who purchase from them.

This was McDonalds first time at a mobile campaign in over 5 years and due to the success and easy nature of setting them up has signed off on further more expansive campaigns.
